Hi there! My name is Becky (Rebecca Lehmann), and I am an artist and graphic designer. I live and work in North Kent, currently from my studio at Sun Pier House in Chatham.
I have a varied background, beginning my career as a foreign languages graduate, then working in marketing, finance, administration, retail, and even as a veterinary nurse. I learned graphic design on the job at the in house design studio at AB World Foods, part of Associated British Foods. Eight years later, I left the studio to begin my own freelance career. I'm currently contracting part time back in the studio as design manager, whilst also managing my portfolio of freelance clients. You can read more about my time working for AB World Foods here.
I have also spent many years taking art commissions - mostly pet portraits - and have developed my own range of wildlife art which I am now preparing to launch as a range of greetings cards available to buy retail and wholesale.
I'm proud of the fact that I am self trained both as a graphic designer and as an artist. The breadth and variety of my work experience only go to make me a more rounded and resourceful creative. My husband is a self employed wedding photographer (check out his site here), and along with my own personal experience of working for myself, this has given me great insight into the the challenges facing small businesses and the crucial role good design can play in this.
